While the online Sonic Amateur Gaming Expo hasn't begun yet, some people have released their rom hacks early. I just beat the demo for Sonic 2 Retro Remix and it's super fucking awesome. You can watch a video of it in action here.

Watch the 0:19 - 0:22 section from this Sonic 4 trailer and then watch this gameplay video from a rom hack called Sonic 2 Dimps Edition. Further proof that Sonic rom hacks are awesome.

Makes me want to play Sonic 1, 2, and S&K3. I get depressed whenever I die in a last before last before last gen game and turn it off after a single death and play a different game.

I forgot to mention this, but S.A.G.E. begins tomorrow and ends on August 14th.

The only thing I find difficult about those games is Sonic 2's last boss and the bonus stages for that game. Admittedly, I absolutely suck at the last boss and I blame Sonic 2's way of accessing the stages as the reason why I suck at them. Sonic 2 is the only Sonic game I can think of that literally punishes you for accessing the special stages so I usually avoid them. In the last time I played that game, I was so mad that accessing the special stage before the boss at the mining level caused me to lose all of my rings and my shield with no way of being able to grab any rings before the boss fight. Then there's the fact you need to beat a stage with 100+ rings to get any continues at all and since Sonic 2 is the only Sonic game with a boss battle that causes me to lose an embarrassing amount of lives, that really fucking sucks. >_< The special stage and continues mechanics were so much better in Sonic 1, CD, and S3&K.

I didn't get to enjoy SAGE at all this year because of resolution problems. Fucking ass. I fucking suck at computers and I'm so goddamn sick of it. My life pretty much resolves around my computer so I have no excuse to suck at them. :|

So what if your video is stretched? My TV stretches out channels in the rare event that I watch TV. Do I care? Hell no.

I can't stand having it stretched and I shouldn't have to deal with that problem on my computer.
